Plan to shop for some great book bargains the last two Sundays in February, the 21st and 28th. You can help us send our largest donation yet to ERD as it works to save lives and offer hope to a hurting world. That means we need your donations of books, CDs, DVDs and VCRs by February 14 — less than two weeks away. Collect the books you aren’t likely to read again and leave them in the red bin near the elevator. When you donate books you are left with shelf space, making it possible to bring some home from the Sale. Thank you! (And please, no texts, magazines or computer manuals.)

Focus on the Future Forum Report

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

With those words of Proverbs 3:5-6 ringing in their ears, about 60 members of our parish came together on Sunday, September 20th, to prayerfully discern God’s vision for St. Paul’s. The key purpose of the session was to answer questions such as:

• What is the mission of our church?
• What is our specific and unique call to ministry?
• How do we engage the resources of our congregation to accomplish our vision?

Following the 10 o’ clock service and a wonderful lunch prepared by Debby Pierce (thanks to Max, too) and Martie Repaskey, participants in the “Focus on the Future Forum” heard a presentation by Kristine Miller, a stewardship expert retained by the church. (more…)
