The Calendar is Back!

Good news! As you can see at the top of the site, we now have a new church calendar! Can I get an amen?

The best thing about the new calendar is that it draws its information directly (and in real-time) from the *official* calendar maintained by Kathleen in the office. In fact they are one and the same.

In case you were wondering, we did try using Google Calendar for a spell last year. However, we quickly found it didn’t have the flexibility we needed and just wasn’t very printer-friendly. Our new “mychurchevents” calendar seems to be a significant improvement.

Thanks to Kathleen for setting this up!

Vivian’s Popcorn Machine dedicated at the Annual Meeting

The picture below is a picture of the popcorn machine that was dedicated at the Januray 31, Annual Meeting.  It is in memory of Vivian Toomey who died in November of 2008.  After consultation with the family, we decided that this was an appropiate memorial.  For further information – a wonderful tribute – read this blog post from Carol Ingells.

Plan to shop for some great book bargains the last two Sundays in February, the 21st and 28th. You can help us send our largest donation yet to ERD as it works to save lives and offer hope to a hurting world. That means we need your donations of books, CDs, DVDs and VCRs by February 14 — less than two weeks away. Collect the books you aren’t likely to read again and leave them in the red bin near the elevator. When you donate books you are left with shelf space, making it possible to bring some home from the Sale. Thank you! (And please, no texts, magazines or computer manuals.)
