Lent Madness, the popular online Lenten devotion that pits saints against one another in a bracket-style tournament, will return in 2026 with a fresh approach designed to keep participants engaged throughout the season.

This year, there will be no Saintly Scorecard published in advance. Instead, biographies written by celebrity bloggers will be posted with each day’s matchup, offering new insights into the saints as the competition unfolds and keeping the experience fresh and dynamic.

The 2026 Lent Madness matchups will begin during the first week of Lent on Thursday, Feb. 19. Participants can view the full matchup calendar and submit their predictions at the Lent Madness website:

As in previous years, only one saint will emerge victorious and receive the coveted Golden Halo.

Printed brackets are available on the signup table in the Merrifield Room. Jeff Irwin has again agreed to monitor the brackets for the parish.

Lent Madness offers a Lenten discipline that is fun, educational, occasionally goofy, and always joyful. While Lent is often associated with solemn reflection, it is also a season set aside to draw closer to Jesus Christ.

Organizers invite parishioners to join the journey and experience Lent through learning, prayer, and joyful engagement.
